The "Farm business survey - England"(FBS) provides data on the financial position and physical and economic performance of farm businesses in England to inform policy decisions on matters affecting farm business and to enable analysis of the impacts of policy options. The primary objective the of survey results is to contrast the performance or other business characteristics of different farm groupings. The FBS provides information on: profitability and performance of farm business; costs; revenues and margins of farms and farm enterprises and location; physical and environmental characteristics of the farm. Offers further data on machinery, labour use and contracting arrangements, assets, liabilities and debt servicing, outputs and costs of non-agricultural farm activities and other sources of farmer/spouse income. Crop and livestock headings are very detailed and costs are recorded at a generally broader level.
