Reports on the key findings from a RICS event held at the Rethinking Sustainable Construction 2006 conference. The event considered whether a sustainable building is worth more than a comparable standard one and discussed the role property valuation could have in demonstrating the added value provided by greener buildings. This report looks at the attitudes of property investors, emissions carbon trading, the need to include sustainability in property investment risk measures, and the social impact of sustainable development. Concludes with proposals for a future research programme.
