Online resources: Summary: Reports on tests of a new land-based mobile mapping system (MMS). Tests focused on a 7km stretch of coastline at Filey Bay, North Yorkshire. Land-based systems used to be commonplace for monitoring changes to the coastline, but have largely been replaced by Airborne Laser Scanning (ALS). It was found that while the MMS was unable to present the overall picture afforded by ALS, it nevertheless was able to provide data which complemented scanning done by ALS.
