Online resources: Summary: The Total Commercial Activity Index rose to 61.0 in May, from 59.7 in April, to remain above the all-important 50.0 no-change mark for a seventeenth consecutive month. The private sector development index increased 28.2% to stand at 64.1. 35% of panel members reported an expansion of private sector construction, compared to around 7% that reported a decline. The private sector office activity index rose 18.5% to 59.2. Regional commercial activity was highest outside London which stood at 56.9 (up 13.7%on the previous month). The index for the rest of the South East was 59.2 (a rise of 18.5%) and the index for rest of the UK stood at 62.8 (a rise of 25.6%).
