Partial contents:
Foreword -- Executive summary -- Introduction -- Findings -- Recommendations -- Appendices
Summary: Using the 'Building for Life Standard', surveys the affordable housing schemes which were either built by Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) or provided by them as market developers as part of planning agreements. Finds that nearly two thirds of schemes are either 'good' or 'very good'. A fifth of schemes were assessed as 'poor'. Scheme strengths were identified, but weaknesses revolved around a lack of response to context. Recommends closer working between RSLs and local planning authorities and enforcing minimum design standards.
