Summary: Occupier activity in the UK's business parks' sector picked up in H1 2011 but remains relatively subdued amid persistent economic uncertainty. A total of 1.6m sq ft take-up occurred in the period, 8.0% up on the H2 2010 but 23.8% below the current five year average. Nationally annual headline rental growth turned positive for the first time since 2000. New business park office space under construction is at its lowest in the survey's 16 year history. Available floorspace remains at record high level but this has stabilised over the last 12 months. The sector is expected to recover but downside risks have significantly increased over the past six months.
