The mix-adjusted average house price was £205 974 in October 2011 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices increased by 0.6% in the quarter ending October 2011 compared with a decrease of 0.6% in the quarter ending July 2011(seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices fell by 0.2%% in England, 1.5% in Scotland, 0.5% in Wales and 12.1% in Northern Ireland. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in October were 0.4% higher than a year ago. Average house prices paid by former owner occupiers decreased by 0.7%. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in October 2011 were 12.1% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 1.2% lower.
