All regions gain from increased funding for investment in affordable housing or housing market renewal. A consultation has been launched by the ODPM which is seeking views from stakeholders on the regional split of the £5.5bn allocated through regional housing pots over the two years. This includes an extra £500m provided for social rented housing in areas of high demand to turn round the growth in homeless households living in temporary accommodation.
