Impact of power transmission lines on property values: a case study

By: Contributor(s): Language: English Series: Appraisal Journal ; 60(3) July 1992, 413-418(6)Publication details: 1992Subject(s): Summary: Studies have been conducted in an attempt to link electromagnetic radiation to some forms of cancer and other health risks. Each study has produced differing levels of evidence as to the validity of this theory. This research project endeavours to analyse the impact of power transmission lines on residential property values and the marketability of real estate in two US locations. Public knowledge of a possible connection between electromagnetic radiation and health risks such as cancer would probably have a profound effect on the real estate market for homes located in close proximity to power transmission lines. References. Journal abstract.
