They are proposed as the solution to multiple surveys, but the RICS does not feel that these are a major problem in Scotland, except in Edinburgh and parts of Glasgow. It also notes that such surveys could only be valid for three months before needing updating, and in the slow markets of most parts of Scotland, this would transfer the problem of multiple surveys from buyer to seller.
