Looks at the issues that need to be addressed when a landlord wants to add new conditions onto an existing lease or a tenant wants to renew even though intending to move on. Considers the options open to each side and examines recent cases illustrating the problems and options available. The Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995 has made lease renewals more difficult for landlords although recent cases have shown that the tenant does not always get his own way.
