The survey shows a decisive easing in the rate at which activity is slowing. Although net reservations are still down on last year the gap between 2005 and last year has narrowed considerably since May. There has been a modest improvement in the balance of builders reporting fewer site visitors than at the same point last year. The rate of price decline has stabilised. The use of sales incentives is growing at a much slower rate than over the preceding nine months. The industry remains reasonably optimistic about 2005 sales prospects with the balance expecting to make more sales this year than last has held steady for the last three months.
