Examines break clauses in leases, in the light of the decision in "Fitzroy House Epworth Street (No 1) Ltd v The Financial Times Ltd" ([2005] EWHC 2391 TCC, L132147). Warns that landlords must co-operate with tenants in any proposals to break the lease, and must not ignore the tenant or be deliberately obstructive. Tenants must take reasonable steps to ensure compliance with any preconditions in the break clause.
