Considers the issue of the forfeiture of defaulting tenants' leases in the difficult market being currently experienced. Discusses debt recovery as a pragmatic option although existing methods can be slow and costly and looks at serving statutory demands. Introduces the new procedure of commercial rent arrears recovery which replaces the law for distress for rent abolished by the Tribunals, court and Enforcement Act 2007. Also investigates rent deposit agreements, guarantees, and eviction and repossession proceedings against tenants and licensees.
