The "Rating consultancy code of practice" has been produced jointly by RICS, the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation and the Rating Surveyors Association. This code will be mandatory for RICS members offering services relating to business rates from 1 April 2004. Includes a downloadable information sheet for ratepayers. This document contains important information and must be provided as part of the written confirmation of the terms of engagement for rating consultancy advice. There are two separate information sheets: one for Scotland and one for England and Wales. It is supported by the Office of Fair Trading and the Valuation Office Agency.
