Mapping in the age of digital media

Mapping in the age of digital media the Yale symposium - Chichester Wiley-Academy 2003 - 144p. 26cm

A record of presentations made at a symposium held at Yale School of Architecture in spring 2002. Coves a wide range of disciplines, examining how new mapping techniques have altered how space is measured and represented. Divided into three sections: the first focuses on the mapping of surfaces; the second examines time and movement; and the third explores the deep space extending beneath the skins of objects, living bodies and landscapes. The last section explores the increase in computing power by examining high-resolution maps, voxel modelling and supercomputer simulations.
