Known as the EC Regulation on Insolvency Proceedings 2000. The proceedings introduces an ordered regime governing the administration of the affairs of an insolvent which extend into more than one member state of the European Union. They ensure the recognition of a court order in bankruptcy or an order or resolution for winding up without further formality and define the roles of the office holders where more than one set of insolvency proceedings involving the same debtor have been instituted in different member states.
