Comes into force 1 June 2004. Amends the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 Part II. Includes changes to renewal and termination procedures, sets new time limits for court applications, widens the circumstances in which landlord and tenant can operate the statutory procedures of Part II, extends the scope of interim rent procedures, amends compensation provisions, changes procedures for contracting out and agreements to surrender, increases the categories of information which a landlord and tenants must provide to each other towards the end of a tenancy term and outlines what must be included in tenants' notices of termination.
