Reports that house price falls were maintained for the three months into April 2005 with market activity flat again on post-election interest rate fears. In this period 40% more surveyors reported price falls than rises; completed sales edged slightly higher to 22 per surveyor; and stocks of unsold properties on surveyors' books moved up to 74. Newly agreed sales in April showed little change reflecting the generally subdued market picture since New Year but surveyors expected moderate sales growth over the next three months. Surveyors near term outlook for prices remains negative. New buyer enquiries showed little significant change for the fourth consecutive month.
