Catchment flood management plans [electronic resource]

Catchment flood management plans [electronic resource] - Environment Agency 2005

The Environment Agency (EA) is creating a new, comprehensive approach to flood management, which could save money, be good for the environment and keep more people safe from flooding. The main aim of catchment flood management plans (CFMPs) is to assist the understanding of the factors that contribute to flood risk within a catchment and to recommend the best ways of managing the risk of flooding within the catchment over the next 50 to 100 years. A catchment is defined as an area that serves a river with rainwater. Any organisations such as local authorities or conservation bodies can participate in regional CFMPs, helping to shape EA's proposals.
