Housing policy an overview
Housing policy an overview
- London HM Treasury 2005
"Housing policy: an overview" sets out the importance of the government housing agenda for achieving the UK's social and economic priorities and for delivering stability and opportunity. The document builds on the detailed and comprehensive analysis set out in the Barker review of housing supply and progresses the government vision for more and better homes found in the Sustainable Communities Plan and "Homes for all and extending home ownership". It issues the challenge: either build more houses and extend home ownership to one million new homeowners in the next five years or accept the status quo of increasingly unaffordable housing constraining the nation's social and economic ambitions.
