Farmland values rose in the fourth quarter of 2001 after the events of September 11 depressed prices in the previous quarter. A subsequent rebound in buyer activity helped values to stabilise. Surveyors have become less negative in their expectations for land prices as demand is expected to strengthen further over the coming year.
