- 2005
[2005] EWHC 2031 (QB), 23 September 2005. P and members of his family occupied green belt land in mobile homes, the council refused planning permission and served enforcement notices for them to leave within six months. At the following public inquiry, the planning inspector dismissed the appeal, but granted a further 18 months to comply with the enforcement notice. After the 18 months, an injunction was granted against P which was asked to be set aside and a further planning application was lodged. "Held": P was subsequently found in contempt of court. The court decided that the injunction had been properly granted, and that a suspended prison sentence was passed on the provision that the occupiers left the land by a specific date.
