Draft legislation to enable the creation of UK-REITs. This will provide the basis for liquid and publicly available property investment vehicles accessible to a wide range of investors, contributing to the wider government objectives for raising productivity in the commercial property sector. UK REITs will also encourage increased institutional and professional investment to support the private rented sector. The documentation contains a summary of the key structural features of a UK-REIT, draft legislation with explanatory notes, an updated regulatory impact assessment and concludes with a summary of responses to "UK Real Estate Investment Trusts: a discussion paper" (L129093), the Budget 2005 consultation.
