Considers problems which surveyors should be aware of to avoid negligence claims in relation to drainage of residential property. Illustrates by highlighting the decision in Strover and Another v Harrington and Others , ChD 2 December 1987, see Abstract 38963, whereby the house was represented as having main drainage, but in fact drained into a cesspool through a joint system with a neighbouring property.
