Kelly, D. J.
Factory glazed windows transport, storage and installation - Watford BRE 2005 - 8p. ill 30cm. - BRE Digest 497(2) .
Failures in insulating glass units have historically been the result of problems with the quality control of glazing on building sites. Factories, however, offer a potentially higher quality of work because poor weather and site conditions can produce damaged or defected units. This report is the second of a two-part guidance that sets out the general principles, supported by drawings, of factory glazing. Part 1 introduced the subject and describes the types of insulating glazing units and production facilities. Part 2 is concerned with packaging, transport and storage of glazing units; their installation, protection in service and maintenance; and testing and performance monitoring.
