Concretes made using very high levels of ground granulated blastfurnace slag have a successful track record of use in constructing female secant piles, providing a concrete with the appropriate early-age properties for allowing piling operations to be carried out. The paper provides guidance on the appropriate mixes for concrete containing between 81 and 95% ground granulated blastfurnace slag when used in different chemical environments.
