DEFRA is consulting on a revision of the existing waste strategy for England. The overall objective of the proposed revised strategy will be to reduce further the impacts of waste management on the environment while developing the economic benefit of using waste as a resource and meeting European obligations. The revised waste strategy will offer a clearer longer-term vision for waste and resource management as part of the government drive for sustainable development. Comments are required by 9 May 2006.
