This report covers the improvement in the quality of urban green space, which includes urban squares, parks, green corridors and nature reserves, its financial management and its planning. Confirms that the decline in urban green space quality in England has been halted in most areas with signs of recovery evident in many places. ODPM-led initiatives have helped to reverse the decline in green space quality in many urban neighbourhoods. Greater priority for green space investment and new funding from government and the national lottery have enabled local authorities, public bodies and over 4 000 communities to refurbish and renew green spaces.
