Highlights the vital contribution that housing associations make to the economy and quality of life in northern England. Examines the housing association's record in delivering community investment by assembling an evidence base for the period 2003-08 which considers the extent to which northern housing associations have responded to government regeneration and sustainability agendas, quantifies the sector's record in neighbourhood and community investment and assesses to what extent associations are investing in four of the key priorities set out in the Northern Way business plan.
