These regulations, which came into effect on 31 January 2006, implement the new Public Sector Procurement Directive 2004/18/EC, which contains revised rules for the procurement of supplies, works and services, above certain thresholds, by public authorities, and re-enact the provisions of existing directive 89/665/EEC, on remedies for public sector procurement.
