Sets out the findings of a study to assess the nature of the relationship between mode of travel and retail spending in various retail sectors. Involved a survey questionnaire of households and interviews of focus groups and stakeholders. Findings include that, on average, car users spend more than public transport users, but after eliminating the impact of income from the analysis, no difference was seen in retail spending between the two groups.
