House prices rose firmly again in July, up at the fastest pace since May 2004. All regions are experiencing price rises for the first time in over two years although there remain large variations in the pace of price rises across the UK. Price gains in London and southeast England were the strongest yet for the survey. Demand for property strengthened in July and new buyer purchase enquiries rose at a faster pace than June, up for a record 14th consecutive month. Completed sales for the past year increased by 16.9% in July against a 11% rise in January. The amount of new property coming on to the market in July declined for the second month in a row and at a slightly faster pace than June. The amount of available property for sale dropped in July to the lowest level since September 2004.
