Sets outs the Executive's proposed policy on land use planning for waste management. The purpose of this draft Scottish Planning Policy is to provide guidance to planning authorities on their role in helping to further the National Waste Plan's objectives relating to sustainable waste management, to assist compliance with environmental legislation and EC directives on waste management. It does not cover infrastructure that may be required for the storage and treatment of radioactive waste. When finalised it will replace "National Planning Policy Guideline No.10: planning and waste management" (ISBN 0748051538). Comments should be sent before 6 November 2006.
