Defra Circular 01/2006 Environmental Protection Act 1990 Part IIA contaminated land [electronic resource] - London DEFRA 2006

Provides guidance on the extended statutory regime for the identification and remediation of contaminated land with effect from 4 August 2006. The extended regime will apply to radioactive contamination of land in addition to the contamination covered previously. Government policy on radioactivity and the related changes to the Part IIA regime are set out in Annex 1 of the circular. Also a substantive change has been made to the Part IIA regime in respect of the arrangements for appeals against remediation notices served by local authorities.
