Construction output in the year to the second quarter of 2006 remained unchanged compared to 2005. Output in the second quarter of 2006 rose by 1% in both volume and in current prices compared to the first quarter of 2006. New work in the year to the second quarter of 2006 was 2% higher than the previous year and rose by 2% from the first to the second quarter of 2006. The number of employees (seasonally adjusted) in employment in April 2006 was 2% lower than in January 2006, but remained unchanged when compared with April 2005.
