Average residential property prices rose by 0.4% over August bringing house price growth to 3.9% over the first eight months of 2006. The average house price now stands at £167 200. The north-south divide in house price growth continued over August with London leading with 0.9% but prices remaining static in two regions and just 0.1% increases evident in three others.
