Developing guidelines for the selection of designers and contractors under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 - Sudbury HSE 2006 - HSE Research Report 422 .

Examines the application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 1994 Regs 8 and 9 and of the proposed Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2006 Regs 4 and 7. These Regulations require contractors, designers and co-ordinators to be competent and adequately resourced. Suggests a standardised approach so as to avoid uncertainty in the definition of competence and resource, and promotes a means of avoiding unnecessary repetition in requests for demonstration of competence.
