This guide, to be read alongside MPS1 "Minerals policy statement one:planning and minerals" (L135611), offers examples and principles of good practice and background information to assist regional planning bodies in the preparation of Regional Spatial Strategies, and mineral planning authorities in the preparation of Local Development Documents for minerals prepared in accordance with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, any development plans covered by transitional arrangements, and in considering applications for mineral developments and reviews of conditions attached to existing permissions.
