Presents the findings and recommendations of the Sustainable Procurement Task Force, whose objective was to focus on the social, economic and environmental dimensions of public procurement. Recommends that government lead by example, set clear priorities and remove barriers to sustainable procurement, whilst the public sector build capacity by developing its capabilities to deliver sustainable procurement and capture opportunities for innovation and social benefits. Also identifies three building blocks to underpin these actions; the flexible framework, prioritisation of spend, and specialist toolkits.
