Considers the extent to which good urban design contributes toward economic growth. Presents an analysis of the components and key aspects of good urban design. Presents a framework for the analysis of quality design and its economic value. Presents a number of case studies and applies each of these to the assessment framework. Concludes that an increase of 15-20% in value can be attained by following key strategies for good design. Some of these do not increase building or design costs.
