Sets out information collected in 2006 for the National Land Use Database of previously developed land. Suggests that in 2006 there were an estimated 62 700 hectares of previously developed land in England of which an estimated 55% (34 900 hectares) was vacant or derelict. The remaining previously developed land was in use but with potential for redevelopment. 26 750 hectares (43%) was considered suitable for housing and could provide 974 000 dwellings.
