Invites feedback on a draft government and industry sustainable construction strategy. The strategy outlines a vision for a sustainable construction industry, and key areas include: reducing the carbon footprint of construction activities; producing zero net waste at construction site level; developing client/industry agreements and initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint and use of resources within the built environment; and improving skills and training to create a safer industry. Mechanisms for achieving the strategy?s vision include: more effective use of government?s procurement power; greater use of sustainable materials; and recognising the importance of design quality. Consultation closes 30 November 2007.
