Urban parks, open space and residential property values [electronic resource]
Dunse, Neil A.
Urban parks, open space and residential property values [electronic resource] - London RICS 2007 - RICS Findings in Built and Rural Environments July 2007 .
Examines the effect that urban parks have on residential property prices. This study uses Aberdeen as an example as an example. It seeks to provide evidence that residents do see value in urban green spaces, and that they are prepared to pay a premium for proximity to such places. Finds that the a premium is paid across all residence types. However while flats attract a high premium, the effect upon house prices is negative. This may be due to anti-social behaviour sometimes associated with such areas.
