Reports that the number of four-bedroomed properties appearing on the UK housing market has plummeted in August 2007. This is believed to be as a result of the introduction of Home Information Packs (HIPs) for this area of the market. The number of such properties for sale is half that reported twelve months ago. The West Midlands region is worst hit. There are fears that this effect will spread throughout the market as three-bedroomed properties have recently come under HIP legislation. Regional statistics.
