The Total Commercial Activity Index fell to 59.7 in April, from 66.2 in March. However, this is still above the long-run survey average (58.4). The rate of commercial activity rose 19.5% signalling a further robust expansion. At 62.7, private sector activity remained the key driver of overall growth in April, with the rate of expansion 25.5% on the previous month. Higher levels of public sector activity were recorded for a third month running in April at nearly 19%, up from 17.2 % the previous month.
