Reports the Total Commercial Activity Index stood at 56.2 in June, representing a 12.3% increase from the previous month. However, the index was down from 61.0 in May, representing the slowest rate of growth in five months. Public and private sector construction stood at 50.2 and 59.3 respectively, with activity growth in both areas of development the weakest since January (ie 56.1 and 64.2 respectively). For a fifth consecutive month, private sector new build was the strongest performing area of commercial activity covered by the survey. The latest expansion of public sector new build was 15.5%; the highest increase for eight months.
