Reported that total activity growth continued to slow down since the high point in March 2007. Suggesting that this may be due to increased borrowing costs and subdued business optimism. A net balance of just 4.9% of UK commercial developers who reported an increase in overall activity. This is the weakest rate of growth for seven months. At 7.8%, the net balance of firms reporting a rise in private sector development was the lowest since December 2005. The volume of work on public sector construction projects was unchanged in August.
