Reports a small increase in overall activity during September. However, the rate of expansion remained weaker than the average for the first half of 2007. The number of respondents who reported an increase in total activity was down 5.4% from August, well below the average recorded in the first six months of the year (+18.6%). Reports further growth of private sector construction, especially for new build projects, but the rate of expansion was less than the survey average. Work on public sector construction projects fell for the first time since January.
