Finds that sentiment in the housing market continued to weaken during July but the slowdown was softened by the strong economy. 22.2% more surveyors reported a fall than a rise in the three months to October 2007, representing the most negative balance since July 2005. Confidence in prices is at its lowest since April 2003. Prices fell in all regions except London. Continued low demand is resulting in greater stock on the market and a looser market. New buyer enquiries, newly agreed sales and new instructions all declined heavily.
